Brimming Over Breakfast in Malawi

1,400 hungry children in Malawi are finally eating throughout each month because of MTC Hope Bringers (our monthly giving program). This meets a critical need during a very difficult time for children in Malawi.

Already one of the world’s poorest countries, Malawi was further devastated by Cyclone Freddy last year. At-risk children are increasingly threatened by hunger and disease, especially as the food shortage and floods continue. Many are also spiritually at risk, as they have not yet heard the gospel or experienced the love of Jesus.

Your donations advance the gospel in a predominantly Muslim region of Malawi, funding feeding programs that enable children to experience the love of Jesus in word and deed, through Bible teaching and physical meals. They’re also given the opportunity to participate in Bible clubs, where they hear the gospel, and can engage in ongoing discipleship. Currently, most of the Muslim families appear to appreciate the extra help.

Pastor John, our liaison who lives in Malawi, visited several of the childcare centers and shared:

“One could not miss the smiles of children as they were receiving porridge. They have been waiting for it. Many of these kids come from families who could not afford to eat porridge. … What is so amazing is that almost all of these kids are being exposed to the word of God at a very young age. As they receive physical food, they are also being fed spiritual food.”

Breakfast is only the beginning.

Will you pray with us? We need your help to meet our goal of $30,000 to feed and evangelize 12,000 children in Malawi this Easter. Every $2.50 feeds a child throughout Easter weekend—a weekend filled with lots of Bible teaching, fellowship, new friends, games … and meals.
