Salvadoran Partners to Positively Influence 1.5 Million Students using Cultivating Character
Special thanks to Fundación Renacer.
This past week Dr. Garmo visited the ongoing work of Salvadoran partners who are using Character Solutions (CSI) to reach youth through educators. There is a new vision growing from within El Salvador to train 44,000 educators using CSI in public schools. These educators will lead by example, mentoring and influencing an estimated 1.5 million students. Below are some of the ministry from this week of training and planning in San Salvador.
Refresher Cultivating Character Seminar for Principals and 75 Leading Educators
This character workshop served principals and about 75 educators. Participants committed to train 100 others using Character Solutions. During the workshop, we had a surprise visit and special word of encouragement from El Salvador’s Minister of Education!
On-site visit
One pueblo is seeking restoration after years of gang violence. In this community, one Salvadoran school of over 1,000 students are already using the CSI character values as a peace model to the community. This on-site visit demonstrated how our character program is spreading a positive message of hope and bringing about transformation.
Thank You Luncheon for Pastors and Christian Leaders
This special afternoon recognized and thanked local pastors and Christian leaders who serve as Master Educators. These leaders are essential to follow-up plans to Cultivating Character workshops.
Cultivating Character Seminar with Special Emphasis on Discipleship
This seminar followed the luncheon above, casting a vision for new volunteers to join the cultivating character movement in El Salvador.
Integrate Discipleship with Cultivating Character Seminars
With great joy, our team learned that the Cultivating Character seminars over the past few years gave away the CSI Bible Guide to each participant. Two Salvadoran pastors of large churches are thoughtfully planning to follow-up the Cultivating Character-trained teachers, students, and parents as a discipling ministry.
