Moses’ father-in-law said to him, “What you are doing is not good. You and the people with you will certainly wear yourselves out, for the thing is too heavy for you. You are not able to do it alone. Now obey my voice; I will give you advice, and God be with you!” Exodus 18:17–19
What incredible rest Moses enjoyed through his father-in-law’s advice. Ministry is about working with others—it requires others. It will not be other charities that we join in heaven … it will be people.
So, have you ever thought about what goes into serving a meal to a hungry child overseas?
Like ingredients found in a dish, there’s a wonderful mix of people who collaborate with MTC to feed, evangelize, and disciple at-risk children. MTC partners include:
- Local partners like you who generously pray, give, and tell others about MTC (2 Corinthians 9:7).
- The Board of Directors, whose vigilance, watchfulness, and prayers are essential (Proverbs 15:22).
- International partners who are the beautiful hands and feet to children at risk (Romans 10:15).
- MTC liaisons are godly reputable leaders (1 Peter 2:12) living in the countries where we work. They help monitor how MTC funds are used, nurture trustworthy relationships, and prayerfully encourage the MTC partners in their country. Their collective wisdom in ministry to the poor is decades long.
- On staff, it’s my privilege to introduce Brian Williams. Brian joins Jacqueline, Audrey, JoDee, and me as MTC’s newest hire (Exodus 18:18). His role in Strategic Relations is an exciting new role for MTC. Brian will be nurturing and inviting partners like you into the wonderful work that God is doing.
We work together so that one day, every child reached will have the opportunity to be discipled by a well-trained church. This takes finances. Time. Effort. Coordination. Godly Relationships. These necessary investments to feed hungry children in the name of Jesus aren’t obstacles—they are privileges we embrace. And you are part of this big embrace.
