Remember Aalim?
The young boy we told you about in Mali, Africa? Abandoned by his parents, begging in the streets, knowing only hatred and abuse? This is the boy who attended a gospel outreach in June 2021, who now professes faith in Christ and believes that God loves him.
Aalim’s favorite Bible verse is John 3:16, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life” (ESV).
Seeds of truth have been planted in Aalim’s heart. But at the same time, he remains physically, emotionally, and spiritually stuck in what may seem to us a hopeless situation and future. He and other street beggars are presently stuck in an oppressive societal system that dictates his identity, religion, career options, and wars with his flesh.
Yet we don’t lose hope.
God’s word has reached Aailim and will not return void (Isaiah 55:11). Aalim’s heart is God’s field to work, not ours. Knowing that God loves Aalim, we continue bringing the hope of Jesus, who loves and pursues Aalim, and all His precious children still caught in similar situations.
And we continue praying.
A Christian field partner in Mali, working with Aalim and other boys like him, shared this request:
Pray for the faith, physical and spiritual health of this child. Yes, this child accepted Jesus as his Savior. [Our desire is for Aalim] to leave the streets to be with a family or a reception center. The spiritual truth in the Bible…is that children are important in the sight of God, and they are a blessing: “The fruit of the womb is a reward” (Psalm 127: 3). God is involved in the conception and birth of children (Psalm 139). The child must grow and develop in all that he is (physically, spiritually, socially, etc.).
There is hope for Aalim! Will you stop and pray with us today?
As your name, O God, so your praise reaches to the ends of the earth. Your right hand is filled with righteousness. Psalm 48:10
… so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it. Isaiah 55:11
