Remember Jane?

Remember Jane?

If you recall, Jane is an 8-year-old girl who showed up at a gospel outreach in a Ugandan slum this past January. In addition to the meal, fun games, and take-home supplies, God’s word touched Jane’s little heart, and never let go from that day on. Jane is being discipled by a Ugandan pastor and believes that God will never abandon her, even in hardships. And she has plenty. Her father is addicted to alcohol, and both parents are HIV positive.

After the gospel outreach, we asked you to pray for Jane and her family … and God answered!

Through the Ugandan church, Jane’s mother was saved, and is now hosting a Bible study in her home. I recently learned that she is also serving in children’s ministry at the local church.

Jane’s dad is being transformed by God’s word as well. He’s attending church now and working on his alcohol addiction. (Please pray for the Lord to break his alcohol addiction.)

In many ways, Jane represents millions of children in developing countries who need to hear about Jesus. There’s no reason we can’t realize a hundred gospel outreaches over the years to come. God can do anything. Why not ask Him? Why not ask God to connect Mission to Children to more partnerships so we can reach more children with the gospel?

By God’s grace, the children you and I reach today may become the faces of the global church tomorrow. But ONLY if we first seek God’s wisdom and humble ourselves before Him.

As you pray and consider a generous year-end gift (and I hope you will)—remember that God’s work doesn’t hinge on you alone. God’s working through each of us to fulfill His purpose to make Christ known among the nations.

Will you join me in 2022 in praying for the harvest and investing in God’s work through Mission to Children? Partnering together, our gratitude will be much sweeter.

In Christ,

Byron Garmo, President
