Donors helped bring out the best smiles at Christmas Dinners
Yet again this past Christmas, your partnership better enabled incredible outreaches spanning from Metro Manila, Philippines to Arad, Romania. Christmas Dinner Outreaches are an opportunity for Christian ministries to work together for the greatest Kingdom impact. Jeff Anderson commented on the outreaches coordinated by Action International (Philippines): “God’s Gospel of grace and the compassion of His people are producing lasting fruit for His glory, the strengthening of the church and the expansion of His kingdom.”
“The food was delicious! It was my first time to eat this kind of food and I will never forget it. I cried when I heard the life story of Bentong because I thought I was the only one with that kind of experience (from a) broken family. I learned a lot from the story and I am eager to learn more about Jesus.” (Camille, Philippines)
Our partners abroad are the hands and feet of Jesus to these children. David, our field partner, shared a Scripture from Luke 14 in a Christmas Dinner report sent to us. I think this really reflects the motivation of so many of the outreaches, what do you think?
“Then He also said to him who invited Him, ‘When you give a dinner or a supper, do not ask your friends, your brothers, your relatives, nor rich neighbors, lest they also invite you back, and you be repaid. But when you give a feast, invite the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind. And you will be blessed, because they cannot repay you; for you shall be repaid at the resurrection of the just.'” (Jesus, Luke 14:12-14)
We can’t wait to share about a special woman who was baptized by Dr. Garmo years ago. She came to one of the Christmas outreaches at Bangalore, India and shared about her walk with Jesus—how God saved her out of prostitution. Be looking for her story in our March newsletter—you’ll be encouraged!
Do you think these children above appreciated a hot meal and gift? They sure did. Thanks to all the supporters who made these smiles possible. Showing kindness doesn’t have to be elaborate to be effective, see Joanna Prisco’s, “Most Popular Gifts in 1913 and 2013.”
Last bit of news: Mission to Children will be an exhibitor/sponsor at the 2014 Christian Alliance for Orphan national conference at Willow Creek this May 1-2. If you’re in Chicago, come by and say hello. Speakers for this year’s Summit include Wess Stafford (President Emeritus, Compassion) and Jedd Medefind (President of CAFO). #CAFO2014
Keep looking up to Jesus.
